The Manitoba Sportswriters & Sportscasters Association

Formed in 1955, the Manitoba Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association, or MSSA, was an organization of Manitoba’s working and retired sports media members.

The MSSA was founded to be a voice for writers and broadcasters in the sports field. The organization, through its executive staff and board of directors, promoted and acknowledged the hard work and dedication shown by sports media members in all parts of the profession.

In 1986, the MSSA established its Media Roll of Honour to recognize the service and achievements of its past and present members. Until 2019, long-standing writers and broadcasters were inducted annually into this hallowed hall by the MSSA.

In 2023, the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame assumed curation of the MSSA’s Media Roll of Honour. We are pleased to preserve this important part of Manitoba’s sports history.
